Hi I am starting with Hypermesh and lsdyna, and for this I found : http://www.altairuniversity.com/2012/07/30/ls-dyna-model-setup-with-hypermesh-free-recorded-webinar/ but I did not find the file used in there. Where could I find it. Thanks.

Hi jacobess, The webinars that have a model file available are posted with a link in the resource library itself, I am afraid this model file may be unavailable, Perhaps you should also start with the tutorials in help, these come with model files in the installation directory, see - HyperWorks Desktop Applications > HyperMesh: HyperMesh Solver Interfaces Tutorials here is a list of them, LS-DYNA HM-4600: General Introduction to HyperMesh - LS-DYNA Interface HM-4605: Defining LS-DYNA Model and Load Data, Controls, and Output HM-4610: Using Curves, Beams, Rigid Bodies Joints, and Loads in LS-DYNA HM-4615: Model Importing, Airbags, Exporting Displayed, and Contacts using LS-DYNA HM-4620: Rigid Wall, Model Data, Constraints, and Output using LS-DYNA HM-4625: Assemblies using LS-DYNA HM-4630: Interfacing for Arbitrary - Lagrangian - Eulerian Capability using LS-DYNA HM-4635: Checking Penetration, Creating Joints and Checking Minimum Time Step HM-4640: Dummy Positioning, Seatbelt Routing, and Control Volumes

Hi PrakashPagadala, with higher NINC and MAXITER values run the analysis. But I do not get the analytically results of Hertzian pressure, can you give me tips for mesh of logarithmic cylindrical rollers?

I worked at optimization problem at H.W12 topology optimazation this message appear *** ERROR # 1800 *** Stress/strain/force response is applied to topology or free-size domain. For stress-constrained topology or free-size optimization, please use the STRESS option on the design variable definition card. Property ID = 1

Hi Mohi, This error is because the stress constraint is not defined from the Topology panel, The only way to apply a stress constraint for a topology optimization run is using the global stress constraint in the topology panel, Image

How to perform free run to check mesh connectivity?

Hi Mohi, Run a modal analysis without constraints. you should expect first six frequencies as zero or tending to zero.

Hi Martin, could you please elaborate your question? what do you mean by "did not get the analytically results of hertzian pressure"?

Thank you so much Prakash, the updated version gives no more segmentation errors. However, my implicit nonlinear NLGEOM analysis does not converge....

Can you please send the model using the secure dropbox below?
I uploaded my file, thank you for taking a look at it. Prakash, when I put a new node (Geom->Nodes->xyz) I clicked the center of the RBE3 element until x, y and z coordinates took the values of it. This node then becomes my new node. In between the new node an the RBE3 center I set up the CBUSH element. Then I set the constraint at the new node. Or should I have used the function at nodes->xyz "as node"?
Did you take a look at it? I still haven't found an answer. As soon as I define a vector that allows me to define K1 through K6 following the CBUSH element definition I get the error message that the element length is zero. Which makes sense, yet I don't get the initial error as described above. Help is much apreciated!!

Strange, at my end, the analysis converged, Do you see any error message? can you paste the error message from filename.out and filename_0001.out file? Image

Hi, what are you plotting? you might need to delete the settings files in your "MyDocuments" Folder . Please search for:hmmenu.set hmsettings.tcl hwsettings.xml and delete these files. If not, please let us know and we will investigate further.

Spring: Force to length

Hello, I got a problem with a spring, property TYPE32 (SPR_PRE). I have defined a curve like this: x/y 0/7850 -0.07805/7850 -0.0829115/0 This curve is integratet into my spring as IFUN1. Though, when the spring shortens, depending on STIF0 the spring adds a force of 7850N independet of its length (STIF0=0 or deactivates) or adds an force that seems independent of my curve and STIF0 (STIF0≠0). I would try to use F1 and D1 but the force has to be constant for the first 0.07805 of shortening... My question is now, how can I link the spring-force through a curve to the length of the spring as it is described as F = f (x - x0).

I have changed the boundary condition; now torsional Moment is applied instead (please see the attached.) Let's Focus first the NLGEOM Analysis without optimization (Analysis Only). Varying NINC in NLPARM matters but I cannot find any proper value of NINC for my task at all.. TSCTRL=ARC is now Chosen, but you can of course suggest me a better option (if any).https://www.dropbox.com/sh/27u9rva0ej18lcw/AAAWgkTcjih-1UjfAKiK84A1a

HawkBecker, You need to go to the card edit panel, and then choose the cbush elements, Image
