It finaly works fine! Thank you verry much!
Though I have (hopefully) two last problems.
I would like to read out the forces in z-direction at the ends of the spring,
though neither /TH/NODE with the variable REACZ neither /TH/SPRING with the variable FZ is giving me anything but a zero for the forces when I read out the T01 file with Hypergraph. Displacements works fine.
Also I hope that I can realise a decreasing spring-force with the shortening of the spring. Is the pretension spring the right choice?

Re: How to find reaction forces on dummy
Kushal,
in order to get the reaction forces on a node, it should be constrained (this may alter the analysis).
You can output the forces for the rigid body instead and interpret the reaction forces for X Y and Z component using TH/RBODY

I should also caution you about the DT/NODA/CST it alters the nodal and the mass balance may increase which leads to probably bad results. So it is better to use right contact interfaces (more practical)

Re: How can I use RBE3 as constraint?
I tried to set K2 K3 K5 and K6 to 0, but unfortunately there was another error:
*** ERROR # 40 ***
CBUSH # 9099 has zero length.
But in this case I cannot set a length?

Re: How can I use RBE3 as constraint?
Try giving a very high value in K1, K2, K3, K4, K5, K6 (like 2e7 for K1-3 and 2e11 for K4-6) and check if you get the same error

Hi Prakash,
I would like to know about the connecting the seat belt to the beam in order to prevent the belts flying from there positions. Could you please provide me with that information as I failed several times in connecting them properly

Re: How can I use RBE3 as constraint?
I already gave 1e7 for K 1-6... the values you gave me don't work either. Always the same error:

Ok I did this now, but there was a problem, when I tried to simulate:
*** ERROR # 99 ***
CBUSH element 9099 references incompatible PBUSH.
K2/M2/B2, K3/M3/B3, K5/M5/B5, and K6/M6/B6 on PBUSH must be zero for
CBUSH with no G0, CID, and blank X1, X2, and X3.

Re: Segmentation error with OSSmooth
Hi Rahul
Thanks for the model. What settings and parameters did you use? I would like to try with exactly the same once.
I've tried a few different settings but nothing worked. Either i get the segmentation error message or HyperMesh freezes after starting OSSmooth. By freezing i mean that windows task-manager says HyperWorks is "not responding" although the CPU is busy. But even after waiting one day HyperWorks is still not responding.

Error in FEM Analysis
Hello,
In our study work we ought to optimize a motorcycle frame.
In Hypermesh we generated settings which are displayed in picture 1.
During the solverrun the following message appears:
*** ERROR # 1000 *** in the input data:
Incorrect data in field # 2.
Expected STRING, found BLANK.
Can you help me?
Thanks

Hi tob.hohmann
The solver is indicating that the second field MTXNAME - Matrix name defined on ASSIGN,H3DDMIG. is blank and not defined coorectly in your DMIGMOD card,
Please redefine this card , see - Altair OptiStruct > Reference Guide > Input Data > Bulk Data Section:

Pressure test on implantats with Hypermesh
Hello everybody,
i'm trying to build up a real experimental setup to a FEM-Modell. A implant is fixed on a certain appliance and is charged with a compression die with a relevant diameter. Unfortunately, I only have two informations about the (real) pressure test, especially the testing speed (mm/s) and the testing way (mm).
Now with which force my fe-model of the implant should be charged? My idea was to approximate the force with the formula F = c*x , where the spring constant c is unknown. For different forces F I get different enlargements x, so after a few runs with different forces, I can build a average value for c and finally get the force F.
Or do you know another way to rebuild this pressure test?
It would be great, when you can help me. Thanking you in anticipation!

Malou

Too short Framerate
Hello everybody,
I've got some question about the animation panel in Hyperview. In my result file, I have 8 time steps. By jumping to the first time step, my complete deformation takes place. In the following 7 steps nothing is changing. The Max. Frame Rate is at one..
For presentations I want to have a short animation, where the deformation happens very slowly and not as quick as described above. Is it possible, that this problem stick together with the definition of my Load-Curve? I defined the x- and y-values the following way (with simulation time 10s, Solver: LS Dyna):
0|0
5|0
100|15
1000|20
100000|20
I'm not very "tightened" in FEM yet, but I still hope, that you can help me by solving this little problem.
Thanking you in anticipation :)

Problem in Hexa Meshing of a wing Structure
Dear All,
I am trying to create hex mesh for the structure. I am creating 2D Automesh and then making 3D Hex Elements using element offset method. The problem that i am facing is that the elements as shown by the attachment are not connected.
I created solids from the surfaces and then used the Boolean to create a single solid. Then after meshing i ran a modal analysis and in that the spar elements are not connected with the rest of the elements. I checked the free edges and it is showing disconnection at the same point. I tried using equivalence but even that is not working.
Please advise about how to resolve the connectivity problem?

Re: Problem in Hexa Meshing of a wing Structure
Hi Neogeo,
Can you send me the model using the dropbox below so I can better understand the connectivity problems and suggest methods to achieve connectivity,
you may have to increase tolerance while you equivalence, perhaps use the other solid meshing options, etc

Re: Too short Framerate
Malou,
We can combine necessary timesteps and loadcases using a derived loadcase to animate them together, however if there is no change in your simulation results in the later time steps, this has to be rectified while preprocessing itself,
Please send me the current result file you are post processing,

how to use Radioss Block Format to creat Nonlinear buckling simulation?
Hello, everyone.
I am a new student learning Radioss to make nonlinear buckling simulations.
Is it right that only Radioss Block Format can make nonlinear buckling simulation, and bulk format can not make nonlinear bucking simulation?
When I use block format, how to put /IMPL/BUCKL/1 into the Engine file?
How to make static nonlinear computation? where to write the keyword like /IMPL/NONLIN ?
Looking forwards your reply.
Thank you so much!
