Yes, I change RLOAD2 type to ACCE. Shown error are as below:
*** ERROR # 2094 ***
EXCITEID on RLOAD2,4 card references nonexistent SPCD,2.
I suppose SPCD card image should be defined. Could u assist how? Thanks for your reply

Re: More error messages
Hi,
you have to give composite hardening parameters.
if you dont want to consider any hardening, enter 0 for B. Please refer to LAW12 in help for more information on the equations.
Also, please refer to LAW25 (TSAI-WU formulation or CRASURV Formulation) for Solid elements (also compatible with shell elements) which may suite for your model.

Re: Acceleration vs. frequency as input to frequency response analysis
Hi,
Please refer to the links below, on how to define enforced motion value (SPCD)
http://www.altairuniversity.com/support-forum/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=23http://www.altairuniversity.com/support-forum/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=469
if you are using the TYPE as ACCE make it is referencing to SPC/SPCD. For more information, please refer to TLOAD1 card in Help documents.

Re: Acceleration vs. frequency as input to frequency response analysis
Hi Prakash.
Now I can defined SPCD and obtained the result.
Just a question, in loadsteps panel, SPC was referenced to a loadcollector with dof same as SPCD. I supposed the flat plate was no longer constraint, because SPC was referenced to the current loadcollector. Does it means that way?
Thanks for your help

Constraining a model and applying enforced displacement are two different things.
What you describe
SPC was referenced to a loadcollector with dof same as SPCDis part of applying enforced displacement. You will still need to create SPC entities on nodes restricting certain DOF to constrain the model.

Re: Acceleration vs. frequency as input to frequency response analysis
Oh, I got it. SPCs constraining the model were created in the same loadcollector, the SPC referenced to SPCD. Results obtained are as expected.
Thanks a lot Rahul and Prakash for your explanation.

Re: Free Size optimisation wont run
My problem of not being able to run optimisation was solved. I was writing output files directly to my USB key, which made the optimization fail. Now that I am running the optimization on the temporary drive and then copying files on my USB key the job completes!!
Altough, the results of my optimization (des.h3d) does not allow me to check different plies thickness. For example, if I select the last iteration and try to review element thicknesses, there is only a constant thickness applied to the whole part and the "layers" submenu cannot be clicked. also the result converges to a minimum allowed thickness. I will send you my freesize.hm file and .h3d so you can give them a look if you are willing to!
Thank you very much, your help is precious since I am trying to finish this optimization project before the end of next week.

What description is used , Eulerian or Lagrangian?
Hi, I am very curious that what type of description is used in HyperXtrude. If Lagrangian description is used, what's the solution for the extreme mesh distortion and deformation during the extrusion, especially in extrusion with flat die? Thanks a lot.

Re: joining two surface edges together or creating a 3D shell
Hi again,
I've just come back to Hypermesh and I really appreciate the help you given so far will be sure to acknowledge it in the final report. There is just a few things a need to clarify if you wouldn't mind. When you apply a pressure to a surface using PLOAD4, is the magnitude it asks for a pressure (i.e. do you divide the force by the number of elements on that surface and then select each element) or do you type in the force and it works out the pressure force you when you select each element?
Secondly, I need to apply an acceleration of 5g to the whole body and the way I was going to do this is apply a pressure where the force is acting from and apply a mass to the whole body which I think might be right. Because I have assigned material density and it knows the shells thickness does it work out the mass for you when you optistruct or do I need to use connectors to assign mass? If so, do have to apply mass do I work out the mass of a shell and select each element using nsm and NMSL1 for a distributed mass? Sorry for all the questions!
Cheers

Shrink Wrap
Direct Mail to Support:I am student and trying to learn HyperMesh. I am not getting how to work with Shrink Wrap. Please let me know more about it and tutorial if you have. Thank you.

Re: Shrink Wrap
Hi,
Shrink wrap meshing is used to mesh models when high precision models are not required say for example: engine components, FEA for bio-medical applications, etc..
Please refer to the HM-3150: Meshing a Model Using Shrink Wrap tutorial to learn about shrink wrap using HyperMesh.
You can find the tutorial in Altair HyperWorks Help documentation. Here is a link for online help: http://www.altairhyperworks.com/hwhelp/Altair/hw12.0/help/altair_help/altair_help.aspx

Re: How to create Topics and Posts inside the Forum
Hi,
Yes, rename the .hm file to .jpg and upload as told above.
example: <filename>.hm rename it to <filename.hm>.jpg and upload the same using Reply option.

Re: joining two surface edges together or creating a 3D shell
Hi sf7,
1) The total magnitude of pressure should be divided with number of elements. say for example if my total pressure that should be applied is 10 units on a surface with 10 elements, then the magnitude that I should input in pressure panel is 1 unit.
2) Please refer to the forum post below which may answer your second question:
http://www.altairuniversity.com/support-forum/analyses-solvers-group10/radioss-forum11/applying-inertia-loads-thread345/
Do let us know if this helped you :)
