T junction and interface laminates

Hi, I'm trying to model a composite ibeam with PCOMPP and interface laminates. I would like to know what is the best approach for doing so. The beam has top & bottom caps, left & right "C" channels and a core in between the channels (image 1). I created a midsurface model of the beam and then created the plys and sublaminates and assigned the corresponding interfaces (black stars on image 1). My question has to do with the way hypermesh displays the interface laminates. in the second image you can see how the C channel sublaminates extend to the web's middle surface completely ignoring the Core sublaminate thickness :x . In a different approach, I tried adding fillets to smooth the C channel corners but it turned out to be more problematic due to the triple intersection (image 3). can this be fixed by using two 2d-element layers for the webb? If so, what contact can I use to join the two element layers? I appreciate your help. :) ImageImageImage
